I believe that drumming is for everyone and that it is an instinctual part of human life. In my teaching I focus on the student building a natural and positive practice, that will continue to grow with them for a lifetime.

I teach core skills and methodologies that enable the student to break things down and then build their drumming language up in a meticulous, musical and open minded way.

Some areas of focus include:

  • Sound and touch

  • Interdependence and polyrhythms

  • timekeeping and feel

These areas of focus are not just for drummers and percussionists but for anyone wishing to develop rhythmic awareness or new approaches on their chosen instrument.

I also occasionally give Masterclasses, Talks and Lectures on these topics. Previous institutions I have given classes or talks at include: Eastman School of music NY, Barcelona Conservatoire, Leeds Conservatoire and University of East Anglia.
